About Joyce Jones Quilts
JOYCE JONES
I am a quilter, designer, author and teacher from the South Island of New Zealand.
For me, quilt inspiration comes from many sources such as an architectural line, a piece of fabric, or a splash of color. Working first with pencil and paper, I then take my design to the computer expanding and changing till I am satisfied and happy to bring the quilt to "life". Simplicity of design and ease of construction are always a priority.
For over twenty years, I have taught quilting classes and workshops, sharing and encouraging students to find their own creative strength. Techniques developed over the years of designing, making and teaching can be found in my book "Uncovering Traditional Quilts - Adventures in Piecing".
Dozens of original quilt designs are still to be published. The most recent, are quilts featuring beautiful Asian fabrics. You can see the first of these on the "Patterns" page. Retailers will find these patterns very easy to kit.
